At Christ Church, Pride month is a special in our calendar.
We've already had the very first Public Theology session at Century Bar talking specifically about the LGBTQ experience in church and how to reconsider those bible verses everyone told you condemn anyone who doesn't fit a very specific definition of sexuality and gender expression.
Later this month we'll be hosting a Bridgetown Forum event with our friends at the Gay Christian Network featuring National trans advocate Rev. Dr. Paula Williams where we'll be having a conversation about how to be the church God dreams of - open, active and inclusive all at the same time.
But before that is the Pride NW 2017 Parade. We'll be marching again this year celebrating with our friends and neighbors proudly declaring the full love and support God has for our LGBTQ family. Everyone is invited to come and march with us and if you'd like you can pick up a custom shirt to wear while walking, dancing and cart wheeling through the city (kid's sizes also available).
Because Pride is scheduled during our typical service time Sunday June 18th we'll be churching at the North Park Blocks. Everyone is welcome to participate - if you need some special mobility assistance please let us know so we can sort things out for you ahead of time.
If you plan on coming, please register on the Facebook event page so we can keep track of how many people will be joining us, and Happy Pride!
