Chapter Three: Step One - we're moving (rooms)!

We're super excited to announce a small shift that will kick off our next season (we're calling it Chapter Three). Starting December 3rd we'll be meeting in the fellowship hall at First Christian Church at 10:30AM each Sunday for our worship service.

Here are a few questions answered, but if you want to talk feel free to message us on Facebook, Instagram or even via email.

FAQ:

What’s going on - I watched the video with the sound off?

Christ Church is shifting locations and times. We’ll now be meeting in the fellowship hall at First Christian Church at 10:30AM on Sundays.

Is this permanent?

No! Life as a community is all about change and we want to be responsive to the needs of our community and what God is doing in our city, so we hold all changes and decisions with an open hand. We do currently plan to be in this new space for the next several months at a minimum though and are excited about the new possibilities it gives us for our Sunday morning worship service.

Are we still fundraising for this move?

Yes! Our pledge campaign is still ongoing - and we warmly invite you to join in to help us imagine what this new chapter will be like. Not only do we have other costs we’re looking to cover (including staffing needs - most importantly someone to support our kid’s ministries and classes) but we’re also looking to increase our monthly rent paid to First Christian from the incredibly low number they set for us as we were finding our footing to something more equitable for both communities benefit.

Did something happen with FCC?

Yes! They’ve been such a support and help to us as a community we’re looking to find better ways to enjoy their hospitably and for Christ Church to be generous as we receive their generosity.

Most importantly part of our move is enabling First Christian to adjust their Sunday morning worship time to better fit their needs as a congregation because we believe in them and want to support their vision of community.

How do I come in?

We’ll have two entrances marked:

How do I come in?

We’ll have two entrances marked:

If you’re entering from the street we’ll have the courtyard gates open and clearly marked at the corner of Broadway and Columbia just around the corner form the church buildings historic front steps.

If you’re driving in entering through the garage you can take the steps or elevator up to the atrium and on to the fellowship hall.

We’ll have all entrances clearly marked so you can find your way, but please ask anyone with a orange lanyard if you need help finding our new space.

Are we going to be there for Christmas Eve too?

Yes! Christ Church will be having a late afternoon Christmas Eve service to celebrate the culmination of the advent season at 4:30 on December 24th. There will not be a Sunday morning service that morning, but we encourage community members to enjoy leisurely brunches and last minute holiday planning!
