August intentions: Whatever your hand finds to do, do with your might

I've been moved to reconsider my weekly rhythms, my practices... what I truly value. I got an email from a friend this week reminiscing back to college when one of his favorite Radiohead albums came out. He was talking about THE LAST ALBUM. It is confirmed: I am not getting any younger. Confession: I used to be able to get up and wing it sometimes. Whatever "it" was. I used to be able to just get by on a couple cups of coffee, semi-decent talent and some extra charm. But that ended somewhere around "Hail to the Thief."

There's some incredible wisdom out of Ecclesiastes and it goes like this: Whatever your hand finds to do, do with your might...

In order for me to do that, I need to be a bit more ready for what my hands find to do. Which means cycling a bit more, turning off the iPhone a bit more than that, and especially being present to friends, family, and even myself. I'm setting August aside especially to re-tool and re-center. Because September is soon to come and so much for each of our hands to do.

What are some things that help you set better intentions?

Hit me back with a note in the comments below - I'd love to hear!
